Maintenance Summary/Objective:
The maintenance technician position assists with highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Sweeny Hospital District business goals and objectives.
Responsible for keeping the physical structure and associated equipment of hospital in good repair.
Minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other duties relating to maintenance are the primary duties.
Essential Functions:

Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner as to reflect the highest integrity of the Sweeny Hospital District operations.

controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.

Performs urgent corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
5.
Assist in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems.
Inspects and tests equipment/systems.
6.
Perform preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and complies with all building safety codes.
This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
7.
Assist in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.
8.
Maintain routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.

Perform manual duties as requested i.

, moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material.

Read blueprints, interprets instructions, and prepares specifications.

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places, in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and core hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:

Position requires work schedule flexibility based on the needs of the facility.
TRAVEL Some local travel is needed for various needs of the Sweeny Hospital District.
Requirements:
Required Education, Experience and License High School diploma or GED required.
Three to Six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education, Experience and License Additional Eligibility Qualifications Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, as well as procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
Thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain tools and equipment.
Knowledge and compliance of safety regulations.
Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of the organization.
